WHAT WOMEN WANT is for nobody to love them

None of my friends can find people to love them. And I’m happy about it.
Not love, obviously, we all love each other, quite reverently, I might say.
I mean romantic love. I mean love from men (our preferred romantic partners, as of now).
My friend's situationship just ended. It was with a DJ. He had been taking her on dates, making her dinner, and incessantly asking to hangout.
It abruptly ended after a few days of him being dry and avoidant, and her finally telling him she was over the games of the everyday frat boy that she had played far too many times before.
My hookup with probably the most confusing and interesting man in the world never had much substance to it, as from the start, it was never easy or friendly. His confusing ups and downs and quick sparks of anger turned out to be too much for me, and too draining to continue.
A few months prior, my best friend ended things with her, honestly, quite awesome man, as he was going to graduate, and there was no point in continuing.
After much reflection over our college experience, we girls shockingly concluded that, throughout our entire college experience, not one of us has had a boyfriend. Furthermore, not one of us has even had a consistent, true hookup or situationship.
And instead of being upset about this, we made our jokes and laughed, turning back to Heated Rivalry and pouring our next glass of wine.
The thing is, I don’t think I want any of us to obtain this.
Our lives are too perfect.
In truth, the relationship dynamic we have now is one of a romantic relationship. We plan our outings, we watch our movies whilst cuddling as close as possible, we go out together, we are completely, 100% loyal to each other.
And yes, while we may not get the sexual stimulation that others around us are receiving, I find that I don’t feel much lack there either.
I feel the most romantic I have ever felt in my life, without experiencing an ounce of affection from a “romantic” interest in three years.
I am not saying I would turn away a romantic prospect that presents itself to me. If it is served to me - easily, lightly, happily - I would accept. To love is never the wrong answer.
However, I will not, in that pursuit, sacrifice the romance and the relationship I have created and worked at with my friends.
Our lives just feel so easy right now.
The movies on the couch every night. The shared glasses of wine while making dinner that preface the shared dinners. The “goodnights” and “I love you’s” and “I miss you’s” - mutterings heard within the confines of a romantic relationship, shared easily and abundantly with each other.
I don’t know if romantic love would disrupt this dynamic absolutely. I just know that this, now, is perfect. And while my other friends and acquaintances around me, yes, may be going to formals and having sleepovers with boys and meeting parents, I find that, more so, I can’t find that anything in my life is lacking.
I am full of love. And I don’t think I could make room for any more right now.
